Understanding Ant Removal Methods

Ants Everywhere? Follow These Tips To Make Your Home Ant Free

If you are seeing ants everywhere in your home, your home is infested with them. Because these insects are so tiny, they can get through any kind of opening. If an ant gets into your home and finds food, they notify the other ants in their colony. They will then all start coming to your home to find the food and water they need to survive. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to take care of this problem, three of which are listed below.

Use Ant Killer

The first place to start to get ants out of your home is to use ant killer. There is poison that you can purchase at a home improvement store. One type is a thick gel that the ants will eat. Place the gel in different areas where you see ants. You can squeeze the gel on a piece of paper or cardboard. Ants love the taste of it so you will see hundreds of them swarm to the poison and eat. They then take the poison back to the colony so ants there will also die.

There are natural ways you can kill ants with products you may already have in your home. One is filling a spray bottle with half water and half white vinegar. Spray this directly on ants that you see, and it will immediately kill them. Spray this solution to use as a deterrent around window seals, baseboards, etc.

Hire Pest Control

If you continue to see ants in your home, it is time to contact a pest control company. They have stronger poison used to kill the ants inside the home. They can also determine where the ants are coming in and out of your home. Once ants find a home, they walk in a line back and forth and they leave a scent trail so other ants know where to walk. The pest control company will look for these paths and clean them with a strong cleaner to remove the smell.

The pest control contractor will also spray your yard to kill ants outside. They can use a spray that will not kill your grass and other insects that are good to have in your yard. They will also look for the ant hill and remove it outside to get rid of a large number of ants at one time.

The pest control contractor can give you many tips to help prevent an ant problem in the future.
